Bastar: The Naxal Story is an upcoming Hindi-language movie. The movie is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the banner of Sunshine Pictures and Last Monk media. It stars Adah Sharma, Raima Sen, Yashpal Sharma and Indira Tiwari in the key roles along with Subrat Dutta, Shilpa Shukla, Anangsha Biswas, Anupam Joardar and Kishore Kadam. The movie is slated for release on March 15, 2024.

Bastar: The Naxal Story is the darkest epitaph to Independent India’s greatest human catastrophe. Based on actual Naxal occurrences in Chhattisgarh – The Bastar insurgency began in 1910 in what is now Chhattisgarh.

Raising the national flag is illegal in Bastar, the heart of independent India, and is punishable by death under Maoist rule. Known by their other name, the Naxals, Indian Maoists or radical leftists have destroyed trillions of dollars‘ worth of national assets and claimed thousands of lives in the previous fifty years alone, all in the name of communism.

In the film’s teaser, actress Adah Sharma, who plays a police officer, advocates for the public execution of “left-leaning pseudo intellectuals” from major cities who “side with Naxals.” Sudipto Sen is well known for his controversial previous movie, The Kerala Story. She identifies JNU as the location where students reportedly rejoiced over the Naxals‘ murder of CRPF officers in Bastar, Chhattisgarh.

Screenplay:

Aashin A. Shah and Vipul Amrutlal Shah are the co-producers of “Bastar-The Naxal Story.” Adah Sharma will play the lead in the Sudipto Sen-directed movie. It will be made in collaboration with Last Monk Media and produced under the Sunshine Pictures label.

Overview:

Fans can’t wait for another compelling and true story from the group who brought us “The Kerala Story,” and Adah Sharma’s performance promises to be incredibly realistic.
