Maidaan is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical sports drama movie. The movie is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta under the banner of Zee Studios and BayView Project. Featuring Ajay Devgn, Priyamani and Gajraj Rao as lead roles. The film is set to be released on April 10, 2024, on Eid.

Maidaan Synopsis:

The movie is about Syed Abdul Rahim (Devgn), a well-known football coach in India from 1952 until 1962. Rahim’s tenacity, leadership, and vision helped him become a famous figure in Indian sports history. It depicts Rahim and the Indian football team’s trials, sacrifices, and triumphs as they attempt to overcome social hurdles and make their mark on the global arena. That led to India winning two gold medals in the 1951 and 1962 Asian Games, and the India Football Team becoming Asia’s first football team to qualify for the semi-finals of the 1956 Summer Olympics.

Ajay Devgn plays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, the renowned football coach who transformed the game in India. Owing to his enormous contribution to Indian football, the team was dubbed “Brazil of Asia” and used a 4-2-4 shape, which takes place between 1952 and 1962.
