The coach Josh McDaniels told reporters in his postgame news conference that he does not believe Waller’s injury is “super significant.”
The former Pro Bowler’s evening ended with no catches, no targets and five routes run on those six snaps. His final snap was on a fourth-and-1 play in the first quarter. On the eve of the 2022 season, Waller came to terms on a three-year, $51 million extension. Heading into Monday, Waller had tallied 16 receptions for 175 yards and a touchdown in four starts.
