Kangana Ranaut is one of the promising actress of bollywood .Her hyped actioner ‘Dhaakad’ was waited excitingly by audience and it got released on 20 May. But ,the movie fails to impress audience and proved to be a biggest flop of Kangana’s career so far. Even the number of shows has reduced because the film failed to bring audience to cinema halls .Despite of the cast , promotions and full packed action , the film is proved a disastrous flop at the box office. Shockingly, Kangana’s ‘Dhaakad’ manages to earn 3 crores only ,however the budget of movie is an insane amount of 80-90 crores. On the eighth day of its theatrical release , the film collected Rs. 4420 and sold only 20 tickets across the country. As per report of separate Bollywood Hungama, the makers are also struggling to seek distributors for OTT release of film. The makers didn’t crack the deals prior to release of film as they were expecting more good deals.
Film trade veteran Taran Adarsh said about the film ,”The content of the film has gone wrong. It’s a routine story with the focus only on action. That is a major drawback. People want wholesome entertainment to balance the heavy proceedings. The action is very stylish and very well shot. But the content has to do the talking and here, the content falls flat. The director has not been able to provide the audiences what they want to watch. Also, the title is very ‘desi’ but the content is very English. Kangana Ranaut, Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta have done very well. However, performances alone cannot make the film run.”
‘Dhaakad’ is Razneesh Ghai’s directorial. It features Kangana Ranaut in lead role of a spy agent . The movie also features Arjun Rampal , Divya Dutta and Saswata Chatterjee in key roles.
