Being a woman in our society is not a cakewalk! You will be told how to live your own life because people assume it’s okay to poke their nose into others’ lives and dictate their choices. Recently, when Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announced their pregnancy within a few months of their marriage on June 27, 2022, society started to shame the couple. From questioning Alia’s timing of pregnancy to trolling her for starting a family too soon, sexism did not spare this moment of happiness.

Not only the netizens! Even humongous companies had indirectly taken a dig at the couple in an effort to be funny. For instance, when the popular condom brand, Durex, who is known for its creative marketing, came up with a cringy post to congratulate Alia and Ranbir, it was hugely criticised by a section of people as it was not funny and maybe too personal.

In a recent media interaction, while promoting her film, Darlings, Alia Bhatt finally reacted to the trolls questioning the timing of her pregnancy. When asked about her pregnancy announcement, the actress said it was the most beautiful experience of her life as she received lots of love and warmth from around the world. And while reacting to people’s nasty comments, Alia said she knew this would happen as every beautiful thing has a strain on it. She said:

“It was a beautiful experience. There was so much love and positivity. We received so much warmth. When you talk about the noisy people, that I expected because every beautiful thing has a detractor. Chaand pe bhi daag hai.”
