Shahid Kapoor’s much awaited movie got a new release date. Earlier ,the film was supposed to hit the big screens on April 14 but makers decide to extend the date by a week ahead. Now, it will arrive theatres on April 22. The film witnessed a lot of delays as previously it was supposed to release in December 31 but due to surge in omicron cases , film’s release date was deffered . Finally , the film is set to release theatrically soon .The main reason behind the postponement of movie is ‘K.G.F 2’ and ‘Beast’. The sports drama features Shahid Kapoor , Pankaj Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur. Shahid Kapoor told about the postponement of movie, “It’s a big holiday. A lot of big films can be released on a holiday and I think Beast is largely for a different market. And KGF 2 is an action film. We are very much a family film. So, the genres are very different.” Further he added that'”It’s always good to have more films during the holidays because people are stepping out more.”
Talking more about ‘Jersey’, the film is said to be the remake of National award winning Telugu sports drama. The story of movie revolves around a talented but unsuccessful and failed cricketer who decides to make his comeback in field in his late 30s to fulfill the desire to represent India and also for his son’s wish for Jersey as a gift. From the story , it seems like the film is going to be a full family pack drama . So , mark your calenders for April 22 to watch the movie.
