Due to the third wave of corona pandemic , all the movies were scheduled to release in January were postponed for indefinite time . However , the makers of this movie shocked everyone by announcing its release date .Bhansali’s banner Bhansali Productions announced the new release date of this movie through their Instagram page. The post read, “Witness her reign in cinemas near you on 25th February 2022. #GangubaiKathiawadi.” Alia Bhatt’s this much awaited movie was delayed multiple times but now the wait is over .
Well ,the story of this movie is picked from one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi’s book “Mafia Queens of Mumbai”.This movie revolves around a powerful lady raised from Kamathipura who also turned to a powerful underworld fiqure in Mumbai .Alia bhatt sets to be a perfect role for this movie as she is acing the role with brilliance and perfection.Ajay Devgan is also seen to be portraying an interesting role in this movie .The film also features SeemaPahwa and has cameo appearances by Huma Qureshi.
